I enjoy meeting and building relationships with people, and look forward to getting to know you. I became a dental assistant by following in my mother’s footsteps: She was an assistant before her recent retirement. Like the rest of the team, our patient is my top priority. I make sure they’re comfortable in the chair, explain what will happen, and prepare them to see Dr. Folkman. Sitting chairside, I act as a second pair of hands for the doctor while updating our patient on what we’re doing. When we’re finished, I offer home-care instructions, answer questions, and check that our patient is happy with their visit.
I spend my free time with my new husband, Vinny. We love to go to wine tastings and travel. One of our favorite places is Las Vegas!
I like to welcome new people to our office and reconnect with established patients. It’s wonderful to work in a practice where the doctor and staff are focused on each patient as an individual! Our patients appreciate our safe and welcoming environment; they arrive with smiles and look forward to their visits. I ensure our office runs smoothly. Working with patients and families, I schedule appointments, review financials and payment agreements, and answer questions. My favorite moments are when a patient finishes the visit and leaves with a smile: I know they’ve enjoyed being with us!
Outside of work, Steve and I enjoy spending time with our families, our dogs, and our friends. We love to entertain, play soccer, and travel.
I love working one-to-one with a patient, and focused on the same goal: achieving their healthiest, happiest smile! I started working at the practice several years ago as a dental assistant, and then left to go to hygiene school. I’ve returned and am enjoying catching up with the patients I knew before and meeting new ones. While I clean a patient’s teeth and offer preventive care, we talk about oral health. Explaining the connection between a clean and healthy mouth and overall wellness, we talk about home dental hygiene, nutrition, and habits. Seeing a bright and clean smile at a recall visit always makes me smile.
When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking, running, and being outdoors. Time with my family is important to me, as is cheering for the Seahawks!
I love each of my patients. We serve a remarkable community, and I enjoy building lifelong relationships while helping each person attain their optimal dental health. I grew up in Ritzville and recently celebrated my 20th year of working with Dr. Folkman. He has created a warm and caring environment, and our patients respond to it positively. I spend my days offering preventive and maintenance care, including cleaning teeth. While I’m with a patient, I teach them about their mouth. Together, we find the home oral hygiene products that work with their unique needs. I love when a patient takes the education to heart and improves their smile’s health!
I live in Ravensdale with my husband, our two daughters, and our four dogs. As a family, we enjoy whitewater rafting, camping, and hanging out at home.
I’ve been a dental hygienist for more than 25 years: 18 of those with Dr. Folkman. My favorite part of my job is the relationships I have with each of my patients. Our practice caters to multi-generational families. Having the ability to care for the oral health needs of people at different stages in their lives is very special to me. I offer gentle, thorough dental cleanings, and pay close attention to each person’s specific concerns. A lot of the time I spend with a patient is focused on education: I want people to understand why it’s important to keep their mouth healthy and how to do it!
My high-school sweetheart and I have been married more than 25 years. Our son Colton and daughter Lauren both recently graduated from college. When I’m not working, I enjoy biking, hiking, running, and being outdoors.
